This week, Edgewood Valley Country Club welcomed Executive Chef Scott Webster and Assistant General Manager Monica Hall to the staff.
About Chef Scott Webster
Chef Scott has worked in professional kitchens for over 20 years. After discovering his passion for cooking, he attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY where he graduated with honors. While at school, Chef Scott was introduced to many different aspects of the culinary and hospitality world and further developed his love of food, wine and the service industry. Taking advantage of the proximity to New York City, he fulfilled his internship with Chef Marcus Samuelsson at Aquavit and also completed extended stages at Jean Georges, Daniel and Bouley.
After graduation, Chef Scott moved back to his hometown of Jackson, MI where he started his path into the private club world. He worked as the Sous Chef at the Country Club of Jackson with some seasoned club professionals that gave him his first insights into club life. Two years later, Chef Scott was presented with the opportunity to move to the Chicago area to work at Skokie Country Club as the Executive Sous Chef, where he was able to learn and work in all facets of the club food and beverage world: writing menus, planning parties with members, hiring and training staff, learning budgets and ordering products.
Eight years after starting at Skokie Country Club, Chef Scott was offered the position of Executive Chef at Sunset Ridge Country Club where he remained for the next six years. After leaving Sunset Ridge, he moved downtown to University Club of Chicago.
Chef Scott is active in the local chef community and served on the Board of the Greater Chicago Chapter of the Club Chef’s Association of America for five years.
